Sara-Gita Matskevich

Her surviving sister gave testimony twice, once that she died in Auschwitz and once that she died in Vilna. Since she lived near Vilna, that may have been what the family believed or it may be that since everyone else was sent to Auschwitz, they thought that's what happened in Vilna too.

Two children: Leib (Arie) and a younger child, whose name was not given.

Sara Mackiewicz (written in Hebrew like Motzkevitch) nee Ruzanski was born in Rotnica in 1908 to Nisan and Shoshana. She was married to Shalom. Prior to WWII she lived in Eszyszek, Poland. During the war she was in Eszyszek, Poland. Sara was murdered in 1942 in Auschwitz, Camp. This information is based on a Page of Testimony (displayed on left) submitted by her sister. (Chana Shlang)

Gitla (Sara Gitla) Mackiewicz nee Rushanski was born in Rotnica in 1907 to Nisan and Shoshana. She was married to Motel (Mordekhai). Prior to WWII she lived in Ejszyszki, Poland. During the war she was in Ejszyszki, Poland. Gitla was murdered in 1942 in the Shoah. This information is based on a Page of Testimony (displayed on left) submitted by her brother.
