Sara Magdalena was not the child of Andries Oelofse.

Sara Magdalena was the daughter Sara Janse (a.k.a. Leendertsz van Gijselen) – not a child of Andries Oelofse who died some time before 31 May 1709.

A. In the boedelrekening, (the accounting and distribution of the estate to creditors and heirs) MOOC 13/1/1 (105), Sara Meurs is stated to have been conceived after the death of Andries Oelofse.

B. The entry for her baptism - Stellenbosch 5 May 1709 – states that her father was unknown.

C. Sara Magdalena is listed as Sara Meurs in her mother’s inventory MOOC8/3.24 dated 12 Jun 1713, not Olofsz as are the other children.

D. Nevertheless, in the entry for her marriage to Johann Michael Cromhout /Krumholect /Kromhout /Krummholz m. Cape Town 2 Dec 1731 her name is given as Sara Magdalena Olofz.
