"In the case of Hans van Queborn, also settled on the Île de la Cité, the choice of his domicile was undoubtedly dictated by the domicile of his in-laws. In 1585 he was described as "master painter in Paris residing in the Marché-Neuf, parish of Saint-Germain-le-Vieil" when he married Sara, daughter of the master goldsmith Herman "Mesebruich", in the presence of several other goldsmiths."
