After the death of her husband (Jacob), Sarah found employment as a nurse at the Adelaide Infirmary. For this work Sarah received 3pounds 5s a month as salary and five and a quarter pounds of meat. From Betty Witt (nee Wade)
1841 - widow of the Infirmary North Terrace Adelaide, married in Trinity Churchby License by Chas B. Howard M.A. Colonial Chaplin, witnesses - John ?Monck and Richard Davis, Sarah's signature neat and controlled. Sarah remarried on the 25 February 1841 to Francis ALLEYN. 1846 - Sarah Aleyn grandmother of the child (Abraham) Sleep's Tiers 1848 - Sarah Alleyn near the Gov's Farm
Have discovered that there was an error on a transcript in Halifax Yorkshire of a marriage of Jacob Bairstow and Sarah Garth on 27th Nov 1826 and the surname of Sarah was Firth not Garth. This needs to be researched further to establish Sarah's surname.

* Halifax 1851 census CD - James Marsden Barkisland ED 1c Folio 422 Sch. No 39 is aged 16 not 167.
* St. John's Halifax BMDs CD - Marriage 26 Oct 1836 is between James TETLEY (not YETTY) AND Sarah COLLINS
* St. John's Halifax BMDs CD - Marriage 27 Nov 1826 is between Jacob BAIRSTOW and Sarah FIRTH (not GARTH)
