1682-1684 Westmoreland Co VA Order Book; pg 60; [25 June 1684] Nathaniel Butler's will was brought into this Court and proved by the wittnesses and Mrs. Sarah Butler one of the executors named, did relinquish the executorshipp. Christopher Butler and William Butler did assume in the minority of the executors named to manage the estate of Natl Butler for the use in the will specified and performe all other the contents in the will devised. The Court order that the trust of the estate of Nathaniell Butler be committed to Christopher and William Butler duringe the nonage of the executors. Alexander Gallant and John Quistenbury are ordered to apprayse the estate.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA ORDER BOOK 1682-1684; John Frederick Dorman; Page 340 [25 June 1684] Upon'petition of Mrs. Sarah Butler the last will, of John Butler is proved by John Jones, Elizabeth Pope and 'Charles Baldridge and administration of the estate with the will annext comitted to Sarah Butler, the relict and executrix of John. It is further ordered that on 2 August next John Questenbury, Alexandr Gallant and John Jones take a true inventory of the estate of John Butler and apprayse the same. John Jones and Alexandr. Webster doe assume with Sarah Butler in 30,000 pounds of. tobacco for the true performance of the contents of the will.

1682-1684 Westmoreland Co VA Order Book; Page 77; [24 Sept 1684], Sarah Butler the relict and executrix of John Butler brought into Court an inventory recorded in Stafford County for 14,245 pounds of tobacco due from the estate of William Keys, Sarah's former husband, to Keys' orphants. The particulars themselves are recorded in this Court and were brought in by John Butler into this County It is ordered, upon the petition of Sarah Butler that Keys estate may bee remooved and transferred back againe into Stafford County for the use of the orphants, which is allowed by this Court to bee deducted and taken out of the estate of John Butler

1693-1694 Essex Co VA Deed & Will Book; Antient Press: (Page 252-253) At a Court held for Essex County February ye May ye 20th day 1693 IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I WILLIAM VEALE of the County of Essex in the Parsh: of Sittingbourne being very sick and weake but of perfect sence and memory doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme as followeth I bequeath my Soule to God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrs: hereafter named; And as for my temporall Estate I dispose of as followeth I give and bequeath unto my Grandson, JNO. BUTLER, and my Grand Daughter, SARAH BUTLER, all my tract of land which I now live on by the River with the houses and orchards after the decease of my Daughter, SARAH LEE, to them and their heires for ever to be equally divided between them I give unto my aforesd Grandson and Grand Daughter, JOHN BUTLER and SARAH BUTLER, my debts being paid, all my personal! Estate to be equally divided to them and their heires for ever. I give and bequeath unto CHARLES COMBES all my Land in the FORREST to him and his heires forever I nominate and appoint my Daughter, SARAH LEE, my sole Executrx. to this my last Will and Testament as Witness my hand and seale abovesd.
