About Sarah DeForest
Sarah's second marriage, to John Franklin Drown, on 24 September 1869, possibly was annulled as he was already married. It had been a triple marriage ceremony with two of Sarah's nieces also marrying on the same day; her brother Calvin was witness to all three weddings. Her third marriage, to Jacob Schram, appears to have taken place very soon after - on the 1900 census, Jacob and Sarah said that they had been married for 30 full years.
The 1900 census says that Sarah was the mother of 12 children, of whom four were then still living. Sarah's death certificate says that she was the mother of 13 children, of whom four were then living.
