On March 7, 1679/80 Sarah Denman co-signed with John Denman of Maspeth ("Mashpeack") Kills, Newtown, Long Island, on a bill of sale for a land transfer of ownership to Samuel, son of Fulk Davis of Jamaica. So both were living at that time.

From Denman family history; from the earliest authentic records down to the present time (c1913), by Harriet Newell Harris, we may read the following speculations about both the mother and wife of John Denman III (son of the Immigrant):
"Interesting combinations occurred among the elements in that wonderful tide-flow from the old world. John Denman's grandmother was a Stoughton, from England, driven westward by the stress of conditions at home. Of his mother we know nothing. She may have been, like his sister-in-law, Mary Hasadinck, a Hollander. His wife was a Huguenot, escaped from the greater stress in France, of which we must now give some account."
Clearly, if his sister in law was a Hasadinck (Dutch name), and his mother (who we know from early records was named Sarah) was "like" her, a "Hollander" -- then Hollander is not Sarah Denman's maiden name. It is merely her alleged ethnicity, which was reasonable to assume based on their residence in New Amsterdam.
However, neither Sarah's ethnicity nor her maiden name has ever been proven, so she would more accurately be known as John Denman the Immigrant's wife, Sarah Denman (Unknown maiden name and unknown parentage).
One thing we can be certain of, is that Sarah Denman (Unknown) was NOT Sarah Jane Stoughton (the Immigrant's cousin, who lived and died unmarried and without issue in Windsor, CT).

We know that John Denman the Immigrant's wife's name was Sarah Denman, because she co-signed with him on some early Long Island deed transfers. Beyond that we have no sources to prove any other vital information about her.
