Her obituary, written by her niece, described her as follows, 'Au nt Li z, as she was familarly called suffered on a bed of pain for four we eks. E arly Wednesday on the wings of the morning she was carried softly a nd tend erly into that Haven of Rest, the World where cometh no pain, n or deat h. She had strong
faith in immortality and the other world especially since the goi ng of h er life's companion 23 years ago. While she had tenacity for li fe there w ere times when she spoke of a longing for other life. Aunt L iz had reach ed the stage in life where she had for the second time beco me as a child a nd we feel sure she is happy with the kind Heavenly Fath er above. The re is a vacant chair in the home, a vacant seat in the litt le church whe re she loved to work and may the surivving children rejoi ce in the fai th of their mother, the faith and trust that is offered to a ll and livi ng in faith and abiding by the counsel of their departed mothe r, and me et her some day upon the shining shore.'[James.FTW]

"John" Stamper 1st Sarah Elizabeth Stamper was born August 12, 1847, Lewis County, Kentucky, daughter of George Washington Stamper Sr. and Catherine Dyer. Sarah Elizabeth married twice, first about. 1866, Lewis County, Kentucky, to Thomas C. Stafford. The marriage year is based on daughter, Leuvina's birth year. Eleven children were born to this union and 4 children preceded Sarah Elizabeth in death.
