Mrs. Sarah Jane Pierce Sarah Jane Pierce, nee Wilson, was born June 16, 1871, and died Monday, March 8, 1920, aged forty-eight years, eight months and twenty-one days. She leaves to mourn her departure three sons by her first marriage to C. H. Smith; Charles A., of Rock Falls, Ill.; H. Vernon, of Sterling, Ill., and Harry W., of Elmhurst; her husband Walter S. Pierce, two daughters, Elsey May and Vera Marie, and an adopted daughter, Marie Mundt, all at home, and three grandchildren. Also three brothers and three sisters, John S. Wilson, of Clinton, Ia., T. Alexander Wilson of Quincy, Ill., George O. Wilson, of Chicago, Mrs. S. A. Rush of O'Fallon, Ill., Mrs. Lewis H. Hunt, of Thayer, Mo., and Mrs. J. E. Reagan of Tampico, Ill. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases. She was converted to God and united in church fellowship in the Greenwood United Evangelical church, of which she was a faithful member unto the end. Her zeal for God and ever willingness to do the Master's will made her presence in God's house a source of power. She labored faithfully as Sunday school teacher and church chorister. She was also a member of the Woman's Missionary society. Her remains will lie beside the body of her mother in the Fulton cemetery to await the Trumpet of God at the first resurrection.

Funeral of Mrs. Walter Pierce Held Thursday The funeral of Mrs. Walter S. Pierce of White Pigeon, who died Monday afternoon of influenza, was held at her home yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. A. P. Johnson of Chadwick officiating. The remains were brought to this city after noon, and taken on the two o'clock train to Fulton for burial. The deceased was born in Clyde township June 16, 1871, and spent nearly all of her life there. Of her immediate family she is survived by her husband, three sons by a former marriage, and three daughters. She had many friends in Clyde and vicinity who will deeply regret her death.
