Sarah was the daughter of Col. John, M.D. Pyle & wife, Sarah (Baldwin) Pyle. Her father, John, was Loyalist and was injured in the Rev. War. He later became a Patriot and King George III offered 5000 pounds for his capture.
Sarah married John Lindley on 16 March 1768 in Orange County, North Carolina. Her husband, John died in 1790. In 1830, at age 80 years, the Census shows Sarah living in Christian Co., Kentucky.
