About Sarah Meckes/Mackes
Second Wife of Reuben Meckes, was married four times. Her first husband was William H. Kresge, son of Philip Jr. and Eve (Weiss Kresge. Her second husband was Jacob Miller. Reuben Meckes became her third husband. After Reuben's death in 1889, sarah married Lewis Lichtenwalter on 30 July 1892. They were married at Salem Curch at Gilbert by Rev. S. B. Stupp. Lewis Lichtenwalter was a carpenter and was born i Carobo County 19 Febb 1853, a son of Daniel and Sarah Lichtenwalter. Lewis' first wife died in April 1892. Sarah (Shupp) Kresge Miller Meckes Lichtenwalter is buried under the name "Lichtenwalter" at St. Matthew's Curch cemetery at Kunkletown.
