Pioneer Information: Sarah's mother died in 1847 in Winter Quarters and her father remarried. He brought some of his children with him in the 1849 Samuel Gully/Orson Spencer Company, and others came with the 1848 Willard Richards Company. Sarah does not appear on the 1850 Utah census with any family memebers. The first documentation to place her in Utah is her marriage in March 1857, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. She must have arrived sometime between 1851 and 1856. Further research is needed to confirm the year she came to Utah and the name of the company she traveled with.
