About Sarah C. Romig
Obituary
Death at 12.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon called Mrs. Sallie C. Romig, nee Haines, widow of George O. Romig, the end coming at her home, the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Stettler, 922 Delaware avenue, Bethlehem. She was in her 79th year. Mrs. Romig, a native of Upper Macungie township, Lehigh county, had been in ill health for the past seven years. She suffered a stroke ten days ago and this hastened her death.
She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan, nee Schlegel, Haines.
She had lived with the Stettler family in Bethlehem since the death of her husband nineteen years ago. She was a faithful member for many years of the Reformed congregation of the Mertztown church, and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. John Stettler, of Bethlehem, she is survived by three sons, William C. and Warren O. Romig, both of Allentown, and Fred G. Romig, Bethlehem, together with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Adam Desch, Emaus; Mrs. Bert Holden, Ilion, N.Y., and Mrs. Alice Haas, Lincoln, Neb., and three brothers, Jacob and Joseph Haines, Cetronia, and Wilson Haines, Allentown.
The funeral will be held from her late home on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with brief services at the house and continued services in the Mertztown church. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
