About Sarah Stone
Sarah and Jennie spent time in Manchester England, before their arrival in Canada. Gillian's grandmother Ester Regina Sweidan (nee Esyer Malka Banks) was reputed to have talked of relatives in "Manchesester".

I remember hearing that Sarah lived in Manchester with an aunt, and that is where she learned to sew. She used to make clothes for my dolls on her sewing machine.
Sarah and Leslie went to night school in Toronto to learn to read in English.
