From Wm. Black & His Decendants: "SARAH BLACK PATTEN was probably born in Alabama. She married John S. Brooks and in 1842 they were living in Triano, a little town in Madison County, Alabama. They also lived in Blountsville, Blount County, Alabama. He died and she moved to Texas where later she married H. V. Fowlar and they lived at Tyler, Smith County, Texas. He died and she married General Rice Maxey. She had no children."
Note that this gives her middle name as "Black", though her tombstone says "Sarah W." It also says she "was probably born in Alabama", though her Findagrave memorial says she was born in Tennessee.
