Survivors: wife, Alexia; sons, Patrick A. of Freeland, Mich., Charles I. of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Mary Lee Hammerschmidt of Galesburg, Ill.; brothers, Alvin and Archie, both of Hays, Alois of Great Bend, Alfred of Aurora, Colo.; sisters, Hilaria McQuire, Lorraine Wasinger, Cecilia Basgall, all of Hays, Leona Schwarzenberger of Hoxie, Eleanor Marzano of Tacoma, Wash.; seven grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with Hospice of the Plains and St. Anthony's Hospital Oncology Unit. Hays Memorial Chapel.
