Edward was the son of Edward and Mary (Canfield) Camp of New Haven. He moved with his mother to Milford when his father died in 1659. Edward married Mehitable Smith in 1674 in Milford and had 3 children. After her death, he then married Elizabeth St. John, who was the widow of Samuel Galpin Sr. Elizabeth had a daughter, Abigail Galpin, who was adopted by Edward Camp and mentioned in his will as a step-daughter.
He was often known as "Edward Camp of Milford" to separate him from his father who although dead had lived in New Haven. He was later know as Sgt. Edward Camp as he was a sergeant in Capt Eells' band (militia). He used this title until his death.
Edward died on 11 Mar 1721 in Milford and his will was probated 17 Mar 1721. He is assumed to be buried in Old Milford Burying Grounds.
