Sgt. William T. Gibbs

William T. & Nancy (Walton) Gibbs were married December 6, 1860 in McDowell Co., NC.

William was a CSA veteran of the Civil War, enlisting at age 27 on May 8, 1861 in McDowell Co., NC. He began as a private in Co. B, 22nd NC Inf. Reg. William was promoted to Full Corporal on June 22, 1861, and to Full Sergeant (Estimated day of Promotion) August 24, 1862. Sadly, he did not survive the war, dying of disease.
