About Shaina Chana Weinberg

From Matzav.com:

Rebbetzin Chana Weinberg a”h January 23, 2012 1:21 pm

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rebbetzin Chana Weinberg a”h, wife of Rav Shmuel Yaakov Weinberg zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, and daughter of Rav Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman zt”l, founding rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ner Yisroel in Baltimore from 1933 to 1987.

Following the petirah of Rav Ruderman, Rav Weinberg served as rosh yeshiva until his petirah in 1999, and Rebbetzin Weinberg served as the consummate eizer kenegdo, assisting her husband and doing whatever she could to allow him to devote himself to his learning and his talmidim. The Rebbetzin worried about each talmid and constantly expressed her desire for them to grow into Bnei Torah and yirei Shomayim.

Rav Weinberg himself used all of his unique abilities and his genius to serve Klal Yisroel, and the Rebbetzin was an equal partner in his endeavors. The Rebbetzin was his help mate in all of his undertakings on behalf of Yiddishkeit. Not only did she free him from the yoke of responsibility in the material aspects of the house, but she was also instrumental in helping him achieve lofty spiritual pursuits. As Rav Weinberg led the growing yeshiva, it was the Rebbetzin who constantly encouraged him to persevere.

The Rebbetzin is survived by a family of gedolei Torah and rabbonim, including Rebbetzin Miriam Feldman, wife of Rav Ilan Feldman of Atlanta, and Rebbetzin Weisbord, wife of Rav Beryl Weisbord, menahel ruchani of Yeshiva Ner Yisroel.
