a) SIBYLLE [Rose] de Guines (-after 1120). The Historia Comitum Ghisnensium names "Sibillam…Rosam nominatam" as the only daughter of "Manasses [comes Ghisnensi]" & his wife, naming her husband "castellano Broburgensi Henrico" and specifying that she was buried "in monasterio beate Marie de Capella"[990]. “Manasses Gisnensis comes et Emma uxor eius…filia Willielmi de Arras” founded Redlingfield priory by charter dated 1120, witnessed by “Widonis fratris mei, Rosæ filiæ meæ”[991]. “Manasses…Gisnensium comes…cum uxore mea Emma et filia Rosa” confirmed possessions of Andres by undated charter[992].

c. 1112 Rose, only daughter of Count Manasses, married to Henri I, lord of Bourbourg, gives birth to a daughter, Béatrix, and (Rose) dies.

Le conte Manasses engendra de Emme sa femme une fille de son propre nom appellée Sibille, aultrement surnommée Roze; laquelle venue en age fut aliée à Henry, chastelain de Bourbourg, dont decendit une fille nominée Beatrix; et c'est après la nativité de ladicte Beatrix, sa mere nommée Roze, aultrement Sibille, mourut; qui fut dommaige. Et a grand doeul en plainte de ceulx du pais, fut son corps inhumé audict, monastere de la Chapelle, devant l'autel S. Benoist.

The count Manasses begat from Emme his wife a daughter of his own name his own name called Sibille, also nicknamed Roze; who when she came of age was allied to Henry, chastelain of Bourbourg, from whom a daughter named Beatrix descended; and it is after the birth of the said Beatrix, her mother named Roze, also Sibille, died; which was a damage. And with a great sorrow in complaint of those of the country, her body was buried at the monastery of La Chapelle, in front of the altar of S. Benoist altar. (Lambert, 100)
