He married Elizabeth "Betsey" Anderson on November 8, 1820 in Centerville, Wayne Co, IN. They had 10 children. They were:

Silas enlisted in the Graybeards in the Civil War and died from illness contracted while in the service.

His wife Elizabeth went on to Clarke county, IA where some of her children lived. She married Thomas Glenn. She is buried in Union Chapel Cemetery near Osceola, IA. Their children Nancy Hubbard, Asenath Hubbard, John Hubbard and Catharine Hubbard are also buried at Union Chapel, Clarke Co, IA. Daughters Lydia Hubbard and Elizabeth Hubbard are buried in Osceola at Maple Hill Cemetery.
