Siman Tov Niyazov

The family name from Nias to Ustonias changed with Siman Tov..Usto means "the professional". He was an artist and knew how to make flower designs on silk dresses.( before the advent of graphics design as we know it).

The name then changed from Ustonias To Niasoff when the communists conquered Uzbekistan around 1925. They removed the Usto and added "off" to everyone's family name.

He passed away Pesach by the Seder as he was circleing around the table with a load on his back as was their custom, pretending that they just left Egypt. One of his grandchildren tapped him on the shoulder, telling him to sit down, He sat down and passed away. Za"L
