About Simon Selig Iglauer
"Simon Iglauer, by the way, died by suicide (hanging himself) in Burgkundstadt. Aunt Klara, who will soon be 85 years old, does not like to talk about her father-in-law, who reportedly was highly intelligent, but not a particularly likeable man. (As chronicler, one has to tell the truth!) . . . As to your question about profession/occupation, I am completely at a loss. I do not believe that Simon Iglauer served in an official capacity. At the time at which it became mandatory that Jews have a trade, he became a wood-turner; besides, he was commercially active in hops."
From a letter by Martin Oettinger to his cousin Helmuth Bloch, dated January 26, 1934, translated from German to English by Walter H. Oettinger
