This is obviously a second marriage, because on 1871 UK census which was a few months earlier, there are children but there is no mother.

(Note that it can be seen on the MyHeritage census transcription, that the name "ALCON" is a mis-transcription of ALION". The transcriber, in many places on the page, has the dot of the "i" a few letters forward, so the letter looked like a "c". A correction suggestion has already been submitted to MyHeritage.)

We have Simon’s burial record. The epitaph on his stone reads: Harmony and Concord Benefit Society In sacred memory of Simon Vieyra Who died February 1st 1904 Shebat 22nd 5664 Aged 85 Deeply mourned by his children, grandchildren And Friends

He is buried in row 165 in grave 19. Leah is buried in row 111 grave 14.

Our marriage records say a Simeon Vieyra married Celline Alion on 9th May 1871, presumably his remarriage. His father’s name is given as Mordechai (already deceased at the time of the marriage).

We have no record of Simeon and Leah’s marriage, but they are down as parents in our birth records; They had a daughter Rebecca in 12 March 1853 and a son Mordecai on 4th Nov 1855.

We do not seem to have a record of Mordecai’s marriage, or of a Samuel and Rivka de Sola.

Note from David Ziants: Simeon and Leah were married in Netherlands before they came to UK which is why there is no record in UK. Same reason for Mordecai’s marriage, or of a Samuel and Rivka de Sola.
