Biographical Summary from the Scots Peerage

Andrew Hamilton: "appointed a Lord of Session under the title of Lord Redhouse 30 June 1608; he was admitted a member of the Privy Council 20 August 1609, but was not a member of the reconstituted Council in 1610. He was again, however, admitted 1 August 1616. He married Jean, daughter and heiress of John Laing of Spittals and Redhouse, in the county of Haddington, Keeper of the Signet. He died in 1634, leaving issue."The Scots Peerage IV: 307
