Biographical Summary from the Scots Peerage
Andrew Hamilton: "appointed a Lord of Session under the title of Lord Redhouse 30 June 1608; he was admitted a member of the Privy Council 20 August 1609, but was not a member of the reconstituted Council in 1610. He was again, however, admitted 1 August 1616. He married Jean, daughter and heiress of John Laing of Spittals and Redhouse, in the county of Haddington, Keeper of the Signet.
