About Sir Archibald Acheson, 1st Bt. Acheson of Market Hill
Sir Archibald Acheson, 1st Bt. emigrated to Ireland arriving on 1610. He was naturalized as a denizen of Ireland on 12 February 1618. He was invested as a Knight on 1 April 1620. He held the office of Master in Chancery [Ireland] on 27 June 1621. He was admitted to King's Inn, Dublin on 16 November 1621. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Constabulary [Scotland] in 1625. He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland] in 1627. He was created 1st Baronet Acheson, of Market Hill [in Clonekearney], co. Armagh [Nova Scotia] on 1 January 1628. He held the office of Secretary of State [Scotland] before 1634.
