Mr Augustine Pettys sonne to Sir John Pettys, at this time maior of Norwich and Mrs Abigaill Heveningham daughter to Sir Arthur Heveningham were maried in Kettringham an Tuesday after the Nativity day being St. Johns day the 27 of December in the year above noted. (1608)

Sir Augustine Pettus, of Rackhead in Norfolk, was the son of Sir John Pettus of Norwich, and Bridget, daughter and coheir of Augustin Curtys of Lincolnshire. Matriculating as Fellow Commoner of St John’s College, Cambridge at Easter 1598, he was admitted to Gray’s Inn 24 November 1606. He was knighted 5 December 1611 and created B.A. on Prince Charles’s visit to Cambridge in 1613. He married firstly Mary, daughter of Henry Violett of King’s Lynn, and secondly Abigail, daughter of Sir Arthur Heveningham of Norfolk.
