About Sir Edmund Harrison
A Director of the New East India Company.
Possibly a son of Major-General Thomas Harrison, MP and Regicide, given his marriage to the daughter of another Parliamentary Commander, and the wealth which must have brought him a knighthood (see the History of Parliament entries for Thomas Harrison, 1650-1707, and his three sons, particularly Edward Harrison, MP, 1674-1732, who was also an East India functionary.
