About Sir Edward Longueville, 1st Bt. of Wolverton
Biographical Summary
"Edward Longueville, Esq. of Wolverton, Bucks and of Little Billing, co Northampton, 1st son and heir of Sir Henry Longueville of the same, by Katherine, sister of Henry, 1st Viscount Falkland [S], daughter of Sir Edward Carey of Aldenham, Herts, was baptized there 23 April 1604; succeeded his father (who was buried at Wolverton) 17 May 1621, and, having carried great sums to the King when at Edinburgh, was created a Baronet [S] 17 December 1638, with rem. to heirs male and with presumably a grant of lands in Nova Scotia, of which he, apparently, never had seizin. The patent, however, is not recorded in the Great Seal Register [S]. He married, in or before 1631, Hester, 8th daughter of Sir Thomas Temple, 1st Baronet [1611] of Stowe, by (the prolific) Hester, daughter of Miles Sandys of Latimers in that county. He was buried 6 August 1661 at Wolverton. His widow died at Buckingham, and was buried at Wolverton, 18 August 1665."
