"Sir Frederick John William Johnstone, Baronet [S 1700] of Westerhall,1st son and heir, being eldest of two posthumous sons, born 5 August 1841, a Gore House, Kensington; succeeded to the Baronetcy on his birth, and was in July 1842 (by his guardians) a petitioner for the Marquessate of Annandale [S 1700]; educated at Eton; matriculated at Oxford (Ch. Ch.) 7 December 1858, aged 17; M.P. fo Weymouth, 1874-85; Sheriff of Dorset, 1889. He married 7 June 1899, at St George's Hanover Square, Laura Caroline, Dowager Countess of Wilton, 2nd daughter of William Russell, Accountant General of the Court of Chancery (nephew of the 5th and 6th Dukes of Bedford), by Emma, daughter of Col. John Campbell, of Schawfield."
