Biography: George Douglas, 13th Earl of Morton (1662-1738) was the son of James Douglas, 10th Earl of Morton and Anne Hay. He m.(1) the daughter of Alexander Muirhead and (2) Frances Adderly, daughter of William Adderly, bef. 1702.

MP Kirkall [Scotland] 1702-1707, (Whig) for Linlithgow 1708-1713, Orkney and Shetland 1713-1715 and 1722-1730. He succeeded his elder brother as 13th Earl of Morton on 22 January 1730. He served as a Representative Peer for Scotland between 1730 and 1738.

By his 1st Wife, he had:-

  1. A son, who died in infancy.
