Biography Gilbert Seton, Younger, of Parbroath. Gilbert Seton died before his father, being killed at the disastrous battle of Pinkie in 1547. He married Helen Leslie, daughter of the fourth Earl of Rothes by whom he had a son David and two daughters Marion and Janet. Marion married David Kynnymond (Cecilia, their oldest daughter married in 1620, George Seton, third of Cariston). The other daughter Janet married April 30, 1567, with James Hamilton of Sammuelston, who was descended from James Hamilton, first Earl of Arran[1]
He died at The Battle of Pinkie Cleugh, sometimes known as the Battle of Pinkie,[5] took place on 10 September 1547 on the banks of the River Esk near Musselburgh, Scotland[2]
