Sir Henry Stapleton was born in 1572 in Wighill, Yorkshire, England. His parents were Sir Robert Stapleton, MP and Katherine Stapleton.

Henry married Mary Stapleton on July 5, 1599. Together they had the following children: Robert Stapleton; Sir Philip Stapleton, MP.

He died on February 16, 1631, in St. Andrews, England.
