Sir Hugh Waterton, (born circa 1340 [before 1373] – died 2 July 1409) was a trusted servant of the House of Lancaster.
Waterton's date of birth is not known.[1] He was the second son of William Waterton of Waterton, Lincolnshire, and Elizabeth Newmarch,[2] the daughter of Sir Roger Newmarch of Womersley, Yorkshire, by his wife, Maud.[3][4] He had an elder brother, John Waterton, and was uncle to Robert Waterton, another lifelong Lancastrian servant.[2]
Please see Wikipedia: Hugh Waterton; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Waterton#CITEREFRichardson_III2011. BUT NOTE: Wikipedia gives the mother of Hugh Waterton as Elizabeth Newmarch, citing Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, while Our Royal, Titled, Noble, etc. gives Sir Hugh's mother as an unnamed daughter of Thomas Methley { https://our-royal-titled-noble-and-commoner-ancestors.com/p1952.htm... } citing Douglas Richardson.
