Sir James Horn Burnett, 10th Baronet (WS), Died at Crathes Castle

The cortege met at the Castle at One o’clock, and service was conducted by the Rev. Mr Fraser, St Ternan’s Episcopal Chapel, and the Rev. Dr Hutcheson, Established Church.

Immediately after the service the body was placed in the hearse, which was drawn by four horses, and the company proceeded in the following order to the churchyard of Banchory-Ternan..........

Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt. held the office of Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1824. He succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, 20 March 1856. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Kincardineshire in 1863. He held the office of Sheriff Principal of Kincardineshire.
