Biographical Summary
"Sir John Stewart, sixteenth of Grandtully, fourth baronet. He married, at Ballechin, on 10th August 1749, Clementina, daughter of Charles Stewart of Ballechin. She died at Murthly, on 10th February 1789. He died on 6th October 1797, and was buried at Murthly."

There is some discrepancy between materials as to whether to consider Alexander first or second of Grandtully. e.g. William Fraser identifies Alexander as second of Grandtully (Red Book of Grandtully), while Red Book of Scotland - Stewart of Grantully identifies him as the first. For this purpose, have aligned to Pedigree of the Family of Stewart of Grandtully outlined in the above mentioned Red Book of Grandtully.
