SIR JOGN WYMESS OF WYMESS

Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir David Wemyss and Cecilia Ruthven. He died before June 1622.

He was the ancestor to the family of the earls of Wemyss.

1. by contract, firstly, Lady Margaret Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie, on 17 April 1574.2
2. by contract, secondly, Mary Stewart, daughter of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune and Lady Margaret Campbell, in August 1581.2
