Sir Kenneth MacKenzie, Lord Fortrose

Mackenzie married (11 September 1741) Mary, eldest daughter of Alexander Stewart, 6th Earl of Galloway

He represented the constituencies of Inverness Burghs between 1741 and 1747, and Ross-shire between 1747 and 1761

The Seaforth estates, including the lands of Kintail and the barony of Islandonaan, were sold by the Crown in 1741, and were purchased on behalf of Lord Fortrose for the sum of £25,909 8s.3d., under the burden of an annuity of £1,000 to the Countess-Dowage

Mackenzie supported the Government during the Jacobite Rising of 1745
