To the Memory of Sir Leonard Thomas Worsley Holmes For many years recorder and representative in Parliament of the Borough of Newport and the last Baronet of the Ancient Family of Worsley in this island. He was affectionate and exemplary in the relations of private life, a warm and disinterested friend, engaging in society, impartial as a magistrate, unwearied in the promotion of public good and constantly and earnestly devoted to the interests of this native Island. He lived for the benefit of others, and expired amidst the sorrow of thousands who followed his remains to the grave as a last proof of their gratitude and love. He died on the 10th of January 1825 in the 38th year of his age and left to lament his loss, a widow and three infant daughters of whom, the youngest, Isabella, within a few days after his internment was consigned to her father's tomb.
