- SIR PETER DUTTON, Knt., afterwards DE WARBURTON, living I Edward II., seated himself at Warburton, and according to the custom of the times, assumed the surname of WARBURTON. He had issue, I. GEOFFRY (Sir); II. Peter of Aston and Budworth; and III. Hugh, of Nether Walton. The eldest son,
- SIR GEOFFRY WARBURTON, was sheriff of Lancaster in 1326. By Margaret, his wife, he had issue, GEOFFRY (Sir); and Robert, living in 1327. The former,
- SIR GEOFFRY WARBURTON, sen., Knt., whose children were I. GEOFFRY (Sir), jun.; II. Peter living in 1348; and I Margaret, m. to Peter de Lymme, living in 1338. The elder son,
- SIR GEOFFRY WARBURTON, Knt., (jun.,) m. Alice __, living in 1381, and had issue,
- I. GEOFFRY, who m. Nichola Danyers, or Daniel, and attended the Black Prince to his duchy of Aquitaine; he had no male issue.

- In the Lansdowne MSS. 825, p. 185, this Sir Geoffry, jun., is said to have had another son, named William, from whom Peter Warburton, of Grafton, afterwards judge of the Common Pleas, descended. Sir Geoffry, jun., d. before 1383, and was s. by his eldest surviving son,
