Sir Richard de la Bere was the only son of Kynard de la Bere and his wife Joan Barre. In 1489 he was said to be aged 40 years and more in the Inquisition Post Mortem of Isabel Barre, Countess of Devon, daughter of John Barre, brother of Joan Barre, Richard de la Bere's mother, giving him a birthdate of about 1448/9. He was found to be one of her heirs.
In Sir Richard Delabere's will, he only mentions a few of his children; son and heir Thomas, son Sanacre, son George, daughter Anne, daughter Sybill. His other children had likely already had their full entitlement [such as Rev. William Delabere] or had died. The 1559 Hereford Visitation also adds a son Richard, who died without issue & a daughter who married Thomas Berington. Many online trees also add a daughter Elizabeth, said to marry Robert Rufford.
