Sir Richard Pipe

Sir Richard Pype or Pipe was originally a Leathercutter of London, but he changed Guilds to that of Draper in order to be eligible to be Lord Mayor of London in 1578-9. He had been Sheriff in 1573.

He also owned lands in Wallingwells, Nottinghamshire.

Richard apparently married 3 times; firstly to Margaret Moseley, secondly to Elizabeth Luce on 24th May 1546 and finally to Jane (nee Gittons, formerly Lovibond] Becher on the 9th August 1571. He had at least 9 children, all with his second wife Elizabeth.
