Sir Robert Cansfield Gerard, 9th Bt. was the son of Sir William Gerard, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Clifton.2 He married Catherine Anderton, daughter of William Anderton, in 1770.3 He died on 6 March 1784, (with three daughters):.3

Sir Robert Cansfield Gerard, 9th Bt. succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Gerard, of Bryn, co. Palatine of Lancaster [E., 1611] on 25 June 1780.1
