Robert was born in or before 1227 [he was said to be of full age at an Inquisition regarding his father on 27 March, 1248,[2] 1248-21=1227]. d. c.1272 (early Edward I)

Robert was the son of Robert of Stockport,[2][1] and Roesia (last name unknown).

Randle de Blundeville, Earl of Chester, granted him Marple and Wiberslegh, to be held by forest service in the forest of Macclesfield? His father's IPM says his father held these.
1260: weekly market at Stockport yearly fair on St. Wilfrid's Day (Oct 12) and 7 days following, with all liberties and free customs to the same belonging.
