    • CHART - Langdall.
  • Anne* (dau. of Izabell Hall & William Langdall) wyf to William Tompton or Tomson, of Scarbrugh.
  • *Probably these are the parents of William Thompson of Humbeton and Christopher Thompson of Hull, both natives of Scarborough (Visitation 1665, pp. 122, 143, 219). Stephen, aet. 18, 1584, and Richard his brother (Visitation 1584, p. 175), must have died without issue, as Anna, 'daughter and heir of Roger Thompson, deceased, late brother of Richard Thompson, Esq., of Langton', and now wife of John Remington, was found heir to her uncle Richard Thompson by Inquisition of 4 Oct. 1600.

Questioning: According to another reference Anne Langley m. Richard not a William, they were parents of Christopher (of Hull), and William (m. dau. of Barker) Thompson of Humbleton

Stephen and Richard Thompson were sons of Henry Thompson, Esq. and the heiress Welborne, I haven't seen a Roger listed as Stephen & Richard's brother but if Roger is the brother then his daughter Anna m. John Remington not her uncle Richard Thompson as listed in some information.

The following pedigree, that of “Thompson of Thornton, Everick, Sheriff Hutton etc., Co., York,” is among the manuscript collections of The Society of Genealogist, London, England. Donated to the Society by Francis Vernon, Esq. And was copied for our records by Mr John Dorrance Morrell.

RICHARD THOMPSON, ESQ [**son of HENRY THOMPSON = Welbourne] = Anne Langland (daughter of William Langland of Scarborough)

Abbott also found in the "Herald's Visitation" of Yorkshire, 1563-4, "Roger Thompson, seated at Scarborough, who had two sons, John and William (who died without issue), and a daughter, Aune, who became his heiress." She married her cousin Richard Thompson, of Kilham, thus merging the Roger Thompson line into another branch. Their son, William, of Hambleton, married the daughter and heir of John Barker (elsewhere it says Baker) and had Richard, Esq., of Kilham, born 1580, who married Anne, daughter of Edward of Neilthorpe.
