Sir Stair Agnew, 6th Baronet of Lochnaw

Biographical Summary

"sir Stair Agnew, Baronet [S 1629] of Lochlaw, 15th child and 5th and 1st surviving son and heir, born 9 October 1734; sometime a merchant, and, as such, had been to Virginia; succeeded to the Baronetcy in August 1771. He married firstly, Marie, daughter of Thomas Baillie, of Polkemmet. She died November 1769. He married secondly 11 April 1775, Margaret, daughter of Thomas Naesmyth of Dunblair. He died 28 June 1809. His widow died 30 May 1811."
