About Sir Thomas Gresham, Kt.
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gresham-90
Sir Thomas Gresham was the second surviving son of William Gresham of Titsey, Surrey, and his wife Beatrice Guybon. In 1534, William's father, Sir John Gresham, had purchased the manor of Titsey, which was inherited by William, who died in 1579, leaving the manor to his widow, who at her own death in 1604 bequeathed it to her son Sir Thomas, who was knighted by King James I at his coronation, 23 July 1603. It appears that the estate passed to Sir Thomas rather than his older brother Sir William Gresham because William had already been left substantial property in 1579 by his uncle, the Elizabethan financier Sir Thomas Gresham.[1]
Thomas was born some time after 1555 and was admitted to St Alban Hall, Oxford, about 1572.[2] In 1587 he married Mary, daughter of John Lennard and widow of Guildford Walsingham. Their union produced six sons and four daughters: [3]

On 15 December 1612, Sir Thomas Gresham settled the manor of Titsey and its advowson on his eldest son John and John's wife Elizabeth, with remainder to his younger sons, of whom Edward inherited after him. Sir Thomas died 1 July 1630.[4] His Will was proved 5 July 1630.[5]
Sir Thomas Gresham sat in Parliament between 1604 and 1625. In 1626, he was a Collector of King Charles I's Forced Loan in Surrey.
