Sir William Austin

William's will was made out on March 27, 1567 with it being approved April 25, 1567. The will instructs that his body should be buried in the churchyard at Tychefelld (Titchfield). 'The Will of William Awstyne dwelling in Howke (in Titchfield Parish), in county southton (Hants) March 27, 1567. To be buried in the churchyard of Tychfelld. To my son John 10s., half of my best boat, half the anchors & oars, & 1 drage, 6 years after my decease. To my son Roger half the profit of my old boat, 3 sheep, 2 lamps, a platter, & a pottinger, 5 years after my decease. To my daughter Jane 4 sheep, 2 lambs, various household goods, & 5s., at Michaelmas after my decease. To the poor of Howke, including mother Elloome & father pynell. To Levcase Sanders 6d. To Robert Talle malt & wearing apparel. If both sons die under age, reversion to their own mother. To Peter Hartwell for writing my will a sheep. Residuary legatee & executrix: wife Alles. Overseers: John Legal & Robert Talle, husbandmen of the parish of Tychefeld. Witnesses: George Legatt, Levcus Sanders, John Llegatt ye younger, & Peter Hartwell.'
