"William Dunbar, of Durne, in the parish of Fordyce, co. Banff, 3d s. of Ninian Dunbar, of Grangehill, in parishes of Dyke and Moy, co. Moray, by his 1st wife Mary, da. of Walter Ogilvy, of Dunugus and Banff, was cr. a Baronet [S.], by royal warrant, dat. at Kensington, 29 Jan. 1698, with rem. to "heirs male of his body and their aires male for ever". He m. in or before 1667, Janet, da. of John Brodie, Dean of Auldearn."
