Biographical Summary

"Sir William Forbes, Baronet [S 1626] of Edinburgh, grandson and heir, being 1st son and heir of John Forbes, by Mary [whose issue, in 1781, became heir of line] of Alexander (Forbes), 3rd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo. He was Advocate [S], 6 January 1728. He married in 1730, Christian, daughter of John Forbes of Boyndlie, by his 1st wife, Susan, daughter of George Morison, of Bognie, which John was a younger son, by the 2nd wife of the 3rd Baronet. He died 12 May 1743. His widow died 1789."
